Niccum, 79 Earl E. Niccum, 79, of 1235 N. 15th St., died at 12:15 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He had been in failing health for four years. Born in West Point on Aug. 10, 1923, he was a lifelong resident of this area. He vacationed in Wisconsin during the summer for 50 years. He married Helen Harrington in Lafayette in 1945, and she died in November 1973. He married Elizabeth "Betty" Vanderkolk on Oct. 12, 1975, and she survives. Mr. Niccum was a self-employed interior/exterior decorator for 50 years. He formerly worked at Alcoa. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and a former member of Eagles Lodge 347 and the painter's union. His hobby was fishing. Surviving with his wife are a son, Donald Niccum (wife: Vella) of Lafayette a sister, Betty Whitteberry (husband: David) of Middletown and two brothers, Kenny Niccum of Florida and Harold D. Niccum (wife: Carol) of Lafayette. |
