EEFTING GIRL SCOUT LEADER IN SOUTH FLORIDA Evelyn Mitchell Eefting, a long-time Girl Scout volunteer, died Wednesday in Lakeland of cancer. She was 87. For decades, Eefting volunteered in the Girl Scouts. She led girls in Dade and Palm Beach counties. She helped start the first Girl Scout camp in Palm Beach County. Later, in Dade, she was a camp consultant for the Scouts. She also was devoted to her two children and her late husband, Ted Eefting, an engineer who once directed the Miami Public Works Department. Eefting is survived by her son, Ronald Eefting; a daughter, Karen Hardin; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Source: Obituaries - GenealogyBank |
