Note 		Geert Eefting departed to Chicago Illinois - May 30, 1882

Geert Eefting, rented various flood gates from the city of Groningen; when he had to give a security, but he did not have this. So he went to Harm, his brother in law, who was willing to give security. For some reason or other Geert took "French Leave" to America. The result was that Harm had to sell his farm and became a farm hand again.
