Published in the Muskegon Chronicle on 2/24/2009: LOHMAN, MRS. DORIS E. Montague, MI Mrs. Lohman, age 78, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, in Whitehall. She was born Aug. 15, 1930 in Shelby to Winifred and Benjamin Fekken. She married Wesley Lohman on April 9, 1952. Mrs. Lohman attended New Era Bible Church. She had been employed at Montague area Public Schools, New Era Canning Co., and Weesies Plant Farm. She enjoyed homemaking, gardening and other outdoor activities. She loved caring for her family and doting on her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband, Wesley; her children, David (partner, Vern), Darlene (Jim) Temple, Duane, Dennis, Dean (Karen) and Darwin; her brothers, Francis, Benjamin, John, Ray and Harold Fekken; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were infant daughter, Debra; brother, Jacob; and sisters, Winifred and Genevieve. Visitation is Thursday, Feb. 26, 10 AM with the funeral to follow at 11 AM at New Era Bible Church south of New Era, with Pastor Robert Sponable officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider the New Era Bible Church Building Fund, 5308 S. Oceana Drive, New Era, MI 49446. Interment will be at the New Era Cemetery.
