HOEKSTRA -- Mrs. John (Lillian F.) Hoekstra, aged 70, of 2710 Forest Grove SW, passed away Sunday afternoon at Blodgett Memorial Hospital. Surviving besides her husband are three daughters, Mrs. Ruth DeVries of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Vern (Hope) Loveland of Washington and Mrs. John (Mary Louise) Glashower of Cedar Springs; a brother, Edward Strong of Grand Rapids; two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Rathbun of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Ethel Hastie of Oregon; 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Hoekstra reposes at the Cook Funeral Home, Grandville, where friends and relatives may meet the family Monday evening from 7 to 9. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 o'clock at the funeral home. Rev. Hartwell Gosney officiating. Interment [Grandville-]Wyoming Cemetery. The family asks that flowers be omitted. She was ninth of ten children born to Charles Frisbe Strong and Mary Lucy Wright. Her siblings were Jessie Elizabeth Strong (1874 - 1968); Frank Charles Strong (1877 - 1948); Archie Leroy "Roy" Strong (1879 - 1931); Perlee Zeri Strong (1884 - 1956); William Earl Strong (1886 - 1900); Leo Ray Strong (1888 - 1888); Ethel Melissa Strong (1889 - 1985); Edwin "Ed" Floyd Strong (1893 - 1983); and Mildred May Strong (1902 - 1903). |
