Fort Worth Star-Telegram (TX) - December 20, 1992 Deceased Name: Richard J. Troughton FORT WORTH - Richard James Troughton, retired owner of Hitex Corp., died Monday at his Fort Worth home after a long illness. He was 64. No funeral is scheduled. Mr. Troughton was born in Chicago. He graduated from school in 1946 in Montague, Mich., and was a Navy veteran. Mr. Troughton worked for Whitehall Leather Co. in Whitehall, Mich., and was a tanner for Loewengart & Co. in West Virginia and Pennsylvania for many years. He later owned and operated Hitex Corp., a cattle-hide processing plant in Fort Worth that used the brine cure process that he developed. Before retirement, Mr. Troughton participated in geological oil exploration surveys in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, and off the coasts of Africa and Central America. The family suggests that memorials be made to any cancer charity. Survivors: Wife, Patricia Moro Troughton of Fort Worth; son, Robert J. Troughton of Arlington; daughter, Diane Troughton Conley of Arlington; stepson, Kevin E. Fahlund of Hawaii; stepdaughter, Tammy A. Johnnene of Fort Worth; two brothers, Louis A. Troughton of Virginia Beach, Va., and Robert I. Houseman of Sycamore, Ill.; three sisters, Sybil Troughton Dunlap of Phoenix, Anne Troughton Lorenz of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Elizabeth Houseman Walsh of Rockford, Ill.; and half brother, Albert L.
