Oceana Herald-Journal, July 2, 2002 Winifred (Plescher) Kieft, 88, of Muskegon and formerly of New Era, died Tuesday evening, June 25, 2002 in Muskegon. She was born to Benjamin and Winifred (Bouwman) Fekken Feb. 22, 1914 in Chicago, Ill. and lived most of her life in New Era prior to moving to Muskegon in 1982. Winifred had been employed at the New Era Canning Company for 30 years, prior to her retirement in 1974. On Nov. 23, 1935 she married Herman L. Plescher and he preceded her in death Dec. 1, 1969. She then married John Kieft on April 4, 1985 and he preceded her death in March of 1994. Winifred was also preceded in death by her brother, Jake; and sister, Genevieve. She attended Calvary Bible Church. Survivors include three children, Norma (Carlton) Robinson of Dutton, Mich., Louis "Bud" (Marcia) Plescher of Fremont, and Virginia (Larry) Pete of Holland; four grandchildren, Scott Margetson, Brian (Kathy) Plescher, Lynn (Dennis) Albachten, and Stephanie (David) Bayes; eight great-grandchildren; five brothers, Francis, Ben, John, Ray, and Harold Fekken; and one sister, Doris Lohman. Services Friday, 11 a.m. at Calvary Bible Church, 4617 Grand Haven Road, with Pastor Gary Ream officiating. Burial in New Era Cemetery. Arrangements by Sytsema Funeral Home, Inc., Muskegon. |
