Adolph bought lots 12 and 13 of block 7 in the village of Maple Grove, Montague Township, Muskegon, Michigan in 1884. (was later an adition of Montague). By 1894, 80 acres of property was purchased to the north in White River Township, Section 10. Lived in Grand Rapids for a short time. Adolph was listed as a trucker i the Grand Rapids City Directories of 1882-1897. He then moved to Montague, then to White River Township and later moved up to Girdle Road in Claybanks Township, Oceana County, Michigan. From Whitehall Forum: Thursday, November 1, 1917 page 7 Adolph Timmich was born in Votto, Germany, Jan 22, 1838 and passed away at the home of his son, Louis Timmich, Wednesday evening, Oct 24, aged 79 years 9 months 2 days. Deceased came to the U.S. Nov 2, 1883, coming to Montague where he lived for two years. He moved to White River Township where he resided until 3 years ago when he came to Whitehall where he made his home until the time of his death. He is survived by four Children, Mrs Glen Stewart of Whitehall; Mrs Louise Kempf of Tomahawk, Wis.; Louis Timmich of Whitehall; and Adolph Timmich of Claybanks. The funeral services were held at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Louis Timmich last Sunday afternoon. Rev TH Schriefer, pastor of the German Lutheran church in Montague efficiating. Internment was in the Montague cemetery. |
